Kalama WA
The story Unfolds…….
It’s definitely true that there is a lot of myth and legends surrounding the Montgomery House in Kalama Washington. Our group investigation led us about forty-five minutes north of Portland Oregon, to a small town right off of Interstate five. Not having any preconceived notions of what we may find, our investigation did not disappoint.
*An important note is that while the Montgomery House was once a bed and breakfast, it is now a private residence that does have an antiques store they run out of their home. Please be respectful if you are interested in visiting, and check out their hours of operation.
Upon entering the House
There is a rather stunning staircase leading up to the second floor. I would say, immediately there was a draw to this area.
The first part of our walk-through was on the main level. The main level had many collectibles, relics and historic artifacts that are worthy of mentioning. However, the basement which is accessible from behind the staircase in the kitchen, was by far the most anticipated location.
The house sits on top of a natural spring. Water runs from the back of the home to the front. There is no clear reason for why the house was originally built in that specific location, however it is known that running water of any kind produces energy. It is believed that areas with flowing water have more paranormal activity.

The Ted Bundy Connection
Yearbook Photo
We did a group investigation before splitting up to different locations in the house. Part of our team that remained in the attic started talking about Ted Bundy. Two of our team members had recently done an investigation at a known location where Ted Bundy had disposed of bodies. While talking about Bundy, we experienced doors opening and closing, footsteps on an empty staircase and what sounded like someone running towards us. We had not experienced this type of activity during our prior investigation of the attic.
During our debriefing we had started discussing what had happened in the attic and that we had been talking about Ted Bundy. Colin, co-owner of the Montgomery House, asked us to wait, left the room, and brought back his mother’s old yearbook. It turns out his mother and aunt were classmates of Ted Bundy in highschool. This was unknown information to our group prior to the investigation.
